About us

We’re a small, independent company founded by David and Philip, based in Canada and Denmark. David brings over 20 years of climbing experience to the table and is currently bouldering around 8B/V13 in his forties. With an eye for detail and an uncommon finger structure — his index finger is shorter than his ring finger — he struggled to properly train his flexor digitorum profundus (FDP) using standard three-finger drag setups. That kicked off more than a decade of experimentation to develop the custom-made grippers we use today. We believe that David's innovation is unique and that no one has brought a custom made gripper to the market, which is specifically optimized for training FDP - a much more precise, less injury prone and more ergonic training stimilus than what can be obtained using three finger drag or other finger training devices. Since then David has also crafted a custom made gripper to target FDS allowing climbers to target the two main functioning muscles groups for finger strength, FDP and FDS.

Hand of God was born from a shared passion for climbing. It is run as a side project and we are still an indie company, we work on Hand of God next to our full-time jobs, family life and climbing sessions. David is the hands-on problem solver, always building and testing new ideas, while Philip, an economist and portfolio manager, runs the business side and keeps the operation moving.

We keep things simple: production for Europe happens in Denmark, while production for North America is handled in Canada.
